Junction Station

Intersection: Dundas St. W. and Dupont St.
Construction Stage: Four
2014 Density (est.): 87
Nearby Landmarks: None
TTC Connections: 26 Dupont, 40 Junction

Junction station is located at the GO Weston Tracks and Dupont Street at the boundary between the West Bend and Junction Triangle neighbourhoods. The preexisting surface routes that it will connect to are the 26 Dupont and 40 Junction buses.

Located just northwest of Junction is the neighbourhood of Junction Gardens. Junction Gardens hosts a number of annual festivals and events throughout the year that constantly draw a large number of visitors92. In addition to the neighbourhoods, Junction would also serve the approximately 900 businesses and 15 000 employees of the Junction employment district91.

There is limited room for redevelopment of the areas surrounding Junction station since they are either stable low density housing or industrial. The industrial areas are unlikely to be redeveloped due to their close proximity to the junction of the GO Weston tracks and the CPR.

The ridership at Junction station will be sufficiently high because of the large industrial area surrounding the station as well as the multiple neighbourhoods that the station will service.
